The New Architecture 

I've been involved with cybersecurity for over 35 years. I've inspected it as an auditor across departments within organizations. I've also covered it across various organizations in financial, insurance, utility and manufacturing sectors. This work has established quite a wealth of knowledge.

Now I'm sharing my thoughts in a book about the misgivings within cybersecurity based on my many years of experience. If you’ve worked in this field for any length of time not to mention my 35 or so years you’ve experienced the trajectory. A cat and mouse game so to speak of threat and reaction.

Cybersecurity is always trailing the dark side trying to keep pace. This cycle is never ending and will remain so without a paradigm shift. I contend that upcoming technological advances such as AI and Quantum Computing may even overload us. I believe the dark side will make more effective use of these advances than ourselves. They historically do when innovation is introduced into our realm.

Our largest and most vulnerable attack surface, and our greatest challenge human beings, exposed to social engineering initiatives, will always be an ongoing risk due to the vary nature of them being human.

Our numbers keep growing in terms of both cybersecurity personal and budgets, however enough is never enough it seems. Management is frustrated with cybersecurity costs as are we with with not being provided enough budget. This is a never ending situation.

This book asserts that current Cybersecurity has evolved without a founding architecture to guide it strategically rather always reacting in patch like fashion hence the spiral. My book lays out an architecture that will ultimately turn our current situation around placing us in the drivers seat rather than being reactionary to the dark side.
